Be My Valentine (Hearts) or NOT
This is a great block to have fun building your quilting skills while being able to play with some tools. Both blocks are constructed in the same manner and are built using the Square in a Square, Shaded 4 Patches, Half Square Triangles, and Quarter Square Triangles units. Changing the layout is what makes them look so different. This is just two examples of the layouts you can build. There are many different layouts to play with which completely change the look.
No prior knowledge of these units or the tools used is necessary. Join me for fun and sewing playtime.
You can choose the Block you would like to build, With Hearts (“Be my Valentine”) or Without Hearts (or “NOT”). Just follow the listed fabric requirements and cut your fabric prior to class.

Be My Valentine: 6 Fat Quarters ( Dark, Med Dark (Heart), Medium, Medium/Light,
Light, Background)
Not: 4 Fat Quarters (Dark, Medium, Medium/light, Lightest Background)

Straight Edge Ruler (my favorite is Creative Grids Quick Trim Ruler 3 ½” x 12 ½”)

Small Travel Iron (less than 420w), with a small pressing board

Thread, Pins, Wonder Clips

Fabric-safe marking pen, air erasable or water-erase

Sewing Machine in good working order as well as knowledge of your machine and ¼” seam.
