Class Title: Five-Star Experience: A Jelly Roll Project with Michelle Cain
Duration: Half Day Class
Description: That jelly roll you’ve had forever? It’s time to get it out of your stash and into a quilt top! In the Five-Star Experience Workshop, you’ll transform 2.5-inch strips into a baby- or throw-size quilt with a large star motif. Learn expert tips for working with jelly rolls—including sewing the strips with precision and knowing when (and how) to bring in extra fabric. You’ll leave inspired, equipped with new skills, and well on your way to finishing a jelly roll quilt that’s anything but ordinary.
Students may choose to sew a throw-size or a baby-size quilt. A copy of Michelle’s book, Not-Your-Typical Jelly Roll Quilts, is included in the class fee. Students will receive their copies in class.
A Jelly Roll strip is 2 1⁄2” x width of fabric. Cutting instructions presume at least a 40” width of fabric after removing the selvages.
