Class Title: Joint Protection and Body Mechanics for Quilters with Christa Nee
Duration: One Hour Class
Description: By definition, an OT assists people in developing, maintaining or recovering their participation in meaningful activities or “occupations”. This includes leisure activities such as quilting!
As a quilter I’ve discovered there are certain areas of the body that can develop discomfort with prolonged activity. These include the upper shoulders, back/posture, hand/joint pain, and thumbs. I have been able to apply my OT skills to try and improve my overall quilting experience with improved comfort. I want to share with you some ways that you can do the same.
In this lecture I will address posture, body mechanics, joint protection strategies and stretching exercises that you can do throughout your time quilting. I will also review equipment that is out there which you may find helpful in improving your overall quilting experience.
Skill Level: Beginner
NOTE: One CLASS REGISTRATION & EXPO ticket (sku 37561) is required for all Workshops & Lectures and includes a 3 day pass to the Expo Hall 4/9-4/11
